Hohm at last

Screen shot 2009-11-16 at 9.48.12 PMI’m still waiting for the TED 5000 to ship, but in the meantime, my utility (Xcel) has partnered with Lord Voldemort Microsoft to bring some degree of energy usage feedback to their customers via Microsoft Hohm.

Unfortunately there’s not a ton of data; the resolution is monthly, and it only goes back a little over a year; well after I did a lot of efficiency upgrades, so I don’t get to see that on the pretty graphs.¬† But it’s a start…

They also have a prettified version of the Lawrence Berkeley Labs Home Energy Saver calculator, I’ll have to finish entering the home data to see what it thinks.

  1. Eric thanks for the review – I’d like to see if you have some time to chat about Hohm. We’re in beta right now working on refining the product and we’re really looking to our customers to find out what they would like to see in hohm. Please shoot me an email at the address that I sent for this post or you can reach me at @elemenager on twitter.

  2. Thanks Elliot, sent an email, look forward to talking with you – one thing I must say, esp. following the Hohm forum/community, Microsoft has been extremely responsive to user questionsand suggestions so far.
